What key do I use to take a screenshot?
The 'PrntScrn' button on your keyboard (sometimes called 'PrtScn' or 'PrintScreen') is the default key. You can also set a second key in Options.
Does PrntScrn.NET capture video?
PrntScrn.NET does not currently capture video. While there are no current plans to do so, we are not ruling out the possibility of adding this functionality in the future.
When I start PrntScrn.NET i get the following error: "Process performance counter is disabled, so the requested operation cannot be performed"
This is caused by a design flaw in the .NET framework v1.1. It has been solved in the v2.0 framework. The base problem is how the framework handles the sending/receiving of remote information regarding processes.
When PrntScrn.NET starts it does a check to see if it is already running. This done by looking at the current running processes. Even though this is all local, the problem occurs because of the design flaw in the framework.
FIX: Open regedit. Browse to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfProc\Performance". If there is a dword called "Disable Performance Counters", change the value of the dword to 0. IF there is no dword called "Disable Performance Counters", go ahead and create it, with a value of 0.
Does PrntScrn.NET handle PRN files?
No.
Why doesn't prntscrn.net allow direct linking?
Every image hosting site that allows direct linking either throttles bandwidth for those images making them slow to load, or removes the image and puts up an image telling you it used up too much bandwidth. We started prntscrn.net to make free image hosting better, not the same. We don't want to have to do either of those things to our users. It's inconvenient for everyone, and it's simply a bad way of handling it. Which is why we provide direct linking to our thumbnails so you can link to our site.
